Old game clients are becoming incredibly rare. We archive all WoW patches with
you. Join us in this effort now!
Cheaper by the Dozen
With 38 (in words: thirty-eight) updates we made it through vanilla WoW in
2004, 2005 and 2006. And those were just incremental updates released for the
Windows game client. If we add full patches and versions for macOS we end up
having roundabout 110 patch archives. That’s quite a lot of them!
Where we had numerous patch mirrors back then (e.g. on ui.worldofwar.net)
we now have dead links and deleted downloads.
The OpenWoW team has spent the past months tirelessly and silently digging
through archives, old CD-ROM disc and backups from over a decade ago and many
more things which are unspeakable.
By now we (at least) managed to secure most of the patch files from the initial
WoW release up to the end of WotLK. With your help we want complete this
archive and provide it to the community on a CDN.
What you can do now:
check the following lists. Do you have one of those patches somewhere? Send it!
do you know how to set up CDNs? Then you can help us!
In both cases: Send an email to us. With a few minutes of your time
you could help the Legacy WoW community and be their hero!
Vanilla WoW Patches
Let’s see which patches we already gathered and which ones we are missing.
Please help us to fill in the gaps!
